Anyone Remember PhoneBlogger?

Phillip @ MAKE:Blog linked to PhoneBlogger, which reminded me that there was a bit of activity in the getting voice on your blog a couple of year’s back (the PhoneBlogger code is almost 2 years old). Well to all of that you can add Classcaster. I think that CLasscaster may be among the few tightly integrated telephony/blogging/podcasting systems out there. Now if I could just get some folks to come and play…

MAKE: Blog: Post to your blog with PhoneBlogger and VoiceXML…
PhoneBlogger is a tool for publishing to a blog via a phone call. PhoneBlogger is an automated voice application that first asks you for info about which pre-configured blog you wish to post to. After collecting the necessary information, PhoneBlogger records your audio message. Finally, it posts a blog entry that links to the recorded audio.

Podcasts On Campus Growing

I’m sensing a trend with AUWCL announcing its podcasting service this week, and now this. Look likes I’m getting Classcaster out the door just in time and CALI will be in front of this wave. Of course Classcaster has 2 cool features: podcasting with your telephone and podcast enabled blogs. I do need to write more about Classcaster:)

Duke to Giveaway Fewer iPods

BetaNews | Duke Modifies iPod Giveaway Program
However, the faculty will be the deciding factor this year as to which students will receive the iPods.

Reaction from students has been mixed, with many claiming the program was a waste of money, as most already owned Apple’s player. Students felt that more pressing issues, such as financial aid and campus security, should have been addressed first.

More on this here and here. The original release from Duke is here, as is the Duke iPod homepage.
